Workshop Details

Location: Ramsgate / Shelly Beach, KZN, South Africa.
Date: 9th - 11th May 2009.
Maximum no of attendees: 6.
Lecturer: Greg Smith.
Workshop info: The focus (I love that pun...) of this workshop will be landscape photography with an emphasis on seascapes & sunrises and will
cover the following aspects of photography:
- Equipment (cameras, lenses, filters, flashes, remote triggers etc.).
- Technique (camera settings, composition, light painting etc.).
- Processing (RAW, HDR, exposure blending, image editing techniques etc.).
Experience level: This workshop is aimed at the hobbyist / enthusiast level. Beginners and casual shooters are also welcome, but bear in mind
that the hardware component of the workshop is geared towards SLR cameras.
Price: R3,600 pp. This price includes return transport from Jo'burg to Shelly Beach, accommodation & breakfast.

What to Bring

Camera... of course.
Tripod - this is a must as you'll be shooting long exposures.
Torch - you'll need it at sunrise. Preferably the "hands-free" type that fits around your head.
Batteries & a charger.
Memory cards.
Warm clothing - dawn on the beach can be pretty cool (another pun...).
An umbrella.
Ziploc bags to keep your camera equipment dry.
A laptop with your image editing software is not essential, but you're welcome to bring one along if you'd like to practice the image processing techniques.
Course material will be provided, but bring a pen with in case you want to make some extra notes.

Studio Portrait Workshop

Times: 09:00am - 04:00pm (incl. 1 hour lunch break).

Workshop info: The focus of this workshop will be studio portraiture and will cover the following aspects of photography:
- Equipment (cameras, lenses, flashes, remote flash triggers etc.).
- Technique (camera settings, composition, lighting, posing etc.).
- Processing (spot removal, smoothing skin, brightening eyes etc. using Adobe Photoshop).
Experience level: Beginner - enthusiast.
